A wet day

A wet day
Ben, Zhi Wei, George and I went downstairs to have a mini basketball match after completed our project. Unfortunately, when we played half way , small raindrops started falling. Soon dark grey clouds filled the sky, looming ahead like a heavy curtain. George lent us his umbrellas, without saying goodbye, three of us rushed downstairs quickly.
We waded through the muddy water and it made a squelching sound in my shoes. Flashes of lightning threatened to tear the late afternoon sky. Puddles gathered everywhere and the bitterly cold wind stung my face. Raindrops pelted on the roads, the top of cars and our umbrellas. It seemed that we were back to Nature Rumble which was one of the activities in our Sec1 orientation camp. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew away my umbrella, without any hesitation, I chased after it. When I retrieved my umbrella, I was totally soaked and my shirt clung onto my body.
Our vision was unclear as the rain was so heavy. We strained our eyes to see what lay ahead but our efforts were in vain. The vision was so blur that we had no choice but to stop at the nearby void deck to wait for the rain to stop.

A Friendly Match

A Friendly Match
Marcus had organised an inter-class soccer match together with David from class 2B. It was quite a hard fight but in the end we still managed to win. It was held at the basketball court as the soccer field was in use.
I was the defender of my class and my job was to block all the shots from our oppponents, not letting them to threaten us with even one shot. At the beginning of the match, due to an important meeting from my CCA teacher, I was delayed for a few minutes. When I reached the basketball court, luckily the score was still nil for both. Without any hesitation, I rushed to their aid. To my surprise, guys from 2B were excellent players, the way they dribbled the ball, the way they used to cross us were so wonderful and unexpected. However, we did not give up so easily. I showed them my skill and power, blocked shots after shots. Eventually, Natas received the ball from me, skilfully, he lifted up the ball with his right leg and did a perfect bicycle-kick. The ball just flew to the top right hand corner of the goalpost. It was quite a surprising goal and happily, Marcus blew the whistle to end the match.
Natas gave me a high-five and smiled at me, together we went home with the others.

A Good Deed

A Good Deed
The morning sun was just peeking through the foliage as my friend Li Chieh and I jogged around the bend of the East Coast Park. We puffed and panted, beads of perspiration trickled down our faces. Li Chieh being a good runner, urged on me when I slowed down. Finally, bearing it no longer, my exhausted legs just switched off and I fell flat on the pavement. While I was groaning to Li Chieh, I somehow picked up a barely audible sound from the nearby bushes. To my curiosity, I decided to go nearer to the bushes for further investigation. As I approached, the sound became clearer and it was definitely a pitiful moaning from some kinds of animals.
Carefully, I pushed apart the bushes and spotted a stranded kitten lying on the grass. Its legs had been tied to a branch. Seeing it could not move, I realised that it had not eaten for a few days and must be on the verge of dying. I was shocked when Li Chieh suddenly dashed up to me and talked in his usual annoying way. However, he turned speechless immidiatedly after spotting the stranded kitten. We were both animal lovers and we could not bear seeing a helpless kitten starved to death. Without any hesitation, I lifted up the kitten while Li Chieh untied the knot. Finally, I put the kitten on the ground and watched it limping away.
Both of us were happy as we did a good deed.
